Good Afternoon, I have spoken with some of you recently about participating in Operation Christmas Child this season. I know some of you have stated that you have groups that have worked with us in the past, and for that I want to thank you. If you have NEVER worked with us before, I pray you will consider working with us at the Processing Center, or contributing shoe boxes for collection. Below is some information to better inform you about our Organization & what we do: Our goal is to reach Child around the world with the Good News & Love of Jesus Christ. Our website is.... www.samaritanspurse.org. There you can get an overview of the Organization & what we do. It is hard to believe that the HOLIDAY Season is approaching. It will be here before we know it! I would like to invite you/group to work at Operation Christmas Child Processing Center following National Collection Week (Nov. 16-23rd). The center is located off Nations Ford. Volunteer dates at the Center are Tues, Nov. 24- Tues. Dec 15th from 9am-10pm. If this is something that sounds of interest to you I need to know ASAP since the phone lines open up Monday August 3rd @ 8am and remain open until Wednesday Night. As one might expect these are very busy few days (I will be working those nights) as they are expecting approx. 65,000 volunteers this season. So, if you or a group that would like to participate, here is some information you need to know..... 1. A "Group Leader" would have to call 800-442-9120 to schedule a time. It is expected that you could have to hold about 30 minutes due to the high volume of calls 2. you don't have to have an exact number of participants @ this point, but it would be best if you gave a high number to hold a spot. 3. you can possibly change the date/group number in the future if need be, but it depends on what is open when you call to change it. That being said, you might want to have a few date options whenever someone calls since your first choice might not be available 4. all volunteers must be 13 years old or older 5. jobs include: removing financial contributions, inspecting gifts, sorting boxes, working with filler items, separating boxes by age/gender. It is just requested that groups be flexible with whatever might be needed of them. 6. shifts are recommended to be 4 hours due to sign in & training I know this is kind of last minute but I wanted to give you the opportunity to serve this season. I understand you might be short on time, especially during the Holiday season. Please let me know what you think. If you have any questions, I will do my best to answer them, or find someone who can. Lastly, if you/your group aren't able work @ the Center maybe you would consider collect/contribute shoe boxes to take to the Center, as I KNOW I will be there during Processing.
